Obverse III2 6- 1 doubled at bottom of lower crossbar and on top left side of shaft. Left 8 slightly doubled at left inside of both loops. 3 doubled slightly at bottom left inside of lower loop.

Comments: Given the description for the date doubling, the variety title appears to have omitted the left 8. I checked the 4th edition of Morgan and Peace Dollars (Encyclopedia of ...) and found that the 8 is also omitted from the title despite being noted in the description. Under the best of light with the a capable loupe; the left 8 is "slightly" doubled. Thus, the omission from the variety title may be intentional.
